Whats a good free download for electricians.....?
when they are installing wire in a building. My friend once told me of this software that cost over 100 dollars, where he could key in his measurements and it would show him any and conflicts while he is laying wire in a building. He is not computer literate to much. I thought I would just get his hard drive and download him some things first that he can use offline. He has not gotten the internet yet & is very slow to getting things he has to commit too like a internet bill.never mine I googled it. But my question was what free dowloads do you know of where he can choose a template basically where he can add in his measurements as oppose to the type of building he is working on???

switchgear. i know the basics, but what do they consist of and how do they work? a good link would me much appreciated. i am asking this because i went to a trade show and saw a cutout of one and it had what looked like copper tubes and tanks, very confusing looking. i thought they just had busbars and circuit breakers and contacters. i am a 2nd year apprentice and just wanted to know more about these.
What should i do in regards to looking for work now since i graduated a trade school as an electrician?
I've just finished up a 7 month trade school where i was studying to become an electrician and from what i'm hearing the school is having some problems finding the students jobs right away due to how bad the economy is these days i've been looking on job web sites and other places for work so i don't have to depend on the school can someone help me with some suggestions or info as to what they think would be a productive move for me in the electrician field of work Thanks

hello. i want to install 25 recess lights in my house. i want to rewire 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a living room. i wanna know about how much is an electrician going to charge me.???. the electrical box has spaces for new circuits. the rooms are about 12' x 12'... the bathrooms are 7' x 7' and the living room is 16' x 10' ....can u guys give me an idea of how much is an electrician going to charge me.?? material and labor???? thanks for ur help...it is going to be inspected.
I'm thinking about going back to school to be an electrician. With the economy, is that a smart idea?
I'm 30 years old and went to college for almost 2 years before I dropped out. I am having such a hard time finding a job with a lot of previous sales management experience. Sales is a very scary place to support a family of 5. I was thinking of going back to become an electrician but don't know if there will be job placement in a few years. does anyone have advise on this idea?

Becoming an Apprentice Electrician?
I live in Vermont and I have absolutely no experience. My question is what is the very first step I need to take in order to become an apprentice, and then what must I do after that, if anything, to be able to start working along side an actual electrician.Thanks guys
